AFFILIATIONS

In the First World War there was a great demand of Medical Laboratory Technologist to carry out the laboratory works.

The first laboratory school was started in University of Minnesota.

After the Second World War the necessity of Laboratory Technologist became very essential.

After independence, Govt. of INDIA with association of WHO started laboratory training programs in the year 1957 to carry out the works of Hospitals and Medical Colleges in the country

A body of Medical Laboratory Technologists came into existence in the state of West Bengal in the year 1970-71 established Indian Medical Laboratory Technologists Association (IMLTA) in the year 1970. Later named as All India Medical Laboratory Technologists Association (AIMLTA).

Registration and Affiliation:

All India Medical Laboratory Technologists Association (AIMLTA) is a registered association under societies registration Act XXI 1860, bearing the R. No. S/12081, 1981, New Delhi.

The AIMLTA became a member society of:

- International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Sciences (IFBLS), Hamilton, Ontario, Canada.

- NGO Member of World Health Organization (WHO)

- Asian Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (AAMLS), Japan
